Eligibility

Faculty, students of Kitasato university, alumni, Former Faculty/Staff Members, emeritus professors, medical researchers, medical
professionals, persons approved by committee to use the medical library.

Borrow and Return

【Borrow】

A student ID card or an employee ID card is required to borrow the materials.
We have no item limits and items can be renewed up to three times.

【Return】

Return the materials to the circulation desk. While the library is closed, please use the book-drop at the entrance of the library. However, Audio Visual materials and overdue materials should be returned to the circulation desk.

 

【Overdue】

If you can't return materials on time, you won't be able to borrow new materials according to the number of items and days the items were overdue.

【Reserve】

You can place a hold on an item which has been checked out

【Lost items】

If you lose items, pleace contact the circulation desk.

 

Copy Services

You can copy materials in the library. When you copy them by yourself, a common prepaid-card around the Sagamihara Campus is required. Please purchase it at the circulation desk in the library or at the vending machine. After 17:00 on weekdays or after 12:00 on Saturdays, they can be acquired only at the vending machine which only sells 100 times copy cards. Be sure that you can't make change at the circulation desk or the vending machine.

Interlibrary Loan

Type Details
Copy Services domestic/overseas You can request copied materials from other universities. You can also request them from foreign universities. Applicants have to pay for expenses such as copy fees, postage and processing fees. 
Borrow You can borrow books from other university libraries. Applicants have to pay for postage.

Visiting other university libraries

If you can't find the materials you need in Kitasato University libraries, other university libraries can be visited.
A letter of introduction is issued to use them. It might take some time for a letter to be issued because we have to contact a library you're going to visit in advance.

Please come to the library circulation desk on the second floor in the library. We will do a simple entrance procedure.

Read and copy in the library.

Please purchase a common prepaid-card around Sagamihara campus. If you don't have a pre-paid card, the staff will make copies of the materials for you. It costs 30 yen for a monochrome copy and 100 yen for a color copy.
Search for  materials Available PCs are limited to the ones at the PC section in front of the circulation desk.When the PC section is crowded, current students and faculty take priority over alumni.
Read E-journals Only foreign E-jornals may be read in the library. Please apply for copy at the circulation desk. (20 yen per one sheet)

For visitors

Eligibility

Researchers and university students who would like to use materials in the medical library for reserch or study must have both a letter of introduction from their home institution and a personal identification. Medical professionals need to bring a certification which will show home institution and occupational categories. A person who is introduced by Sagamihara City Library also can use the medical library.
*In general, this library is not open to the public. Contact us for more details.
*Be sure to contact  before visiting us, otherwise you may not use the medical library.
*There is no parking. Please visit the library by public transportation.

 

Admission

The documents below are required to use the library. (You can receive an entrance certificate at the administrative office on the first floor of School of Medicine. ) Please come to the library circulation desk on the second floor with them.

A person who belongs to an educational or research institution except Kitasato University. A letter of introduction issued by a home institution + an entrance certificate
A person who is introduced by Sagamihara City Library A permission card to use medical library issued by Kitasato University ＋ an entrance certificate.
